At Nutreco, our values reflect our culture, what we promise our customers and our dedication to our purpose of Feeding the Future. We asked employees from across the globe what our values mean to them and what it’s like to work for Nutreco. Shifang Zhao, Finance Manager at Trouw Nutrition in China, sees “integrity” as our company’s most constant and unchanging value. 

Nutreco is the first and only company Shifang has worked for during her career – and she’s been part of the team for 16 years, starting with an internship in 2006. At that time, Nutreco had just acquired Dejia, a local company in Beijing. “I experienced its entire transition from a local feed mill to an international company, along with all of the changes in working processes and systems,” said Shifang. 

Shifang said that while there have been many changes over the years at Nutreco, one thing that remains the same is our commitment to the value of integrity. “It’s the value my colleagues and I live for. It’s about fairness and justice, adhering to principles and doing the right thing.” 

In the Finance department where she works, integrity is key to safeguarding the company’s policies and assets and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accounting policies.

Shifang believes having the right values is critical to helping Nutreco achieve our purpose. “Values are something we cannot see or touch, but just as air is necessary for life, they are essential for guiding our everyday behaviors. Acting according to the right values is always vital to sustainable long-term growth, like what we will need to achieve our purpose of Feeding the Future.”
